Motorcycle Bloggers International

A Couple of days ago a I came across a link posted in TalesofaDucRider for Motorcycle Bloggers International. Its a site dedicated to the listing of motorcycle blogs from all over the world. They currently had 99 blogs listed. All of them are for the most part about motorcycles and the adventures that come with exploring the world we live in on 2 wheels. Not that I needed more ways to waste the day inside infront of a computer screen instead of outside living life, but I was hooked.

There are some really great blogs on there. And some of my favorite blogs were already listed on there, go figure. I quickly filled out an application and within a few hours I became their 100th member. I was expecting balloons and ticker tape to fall from the ceiling tiles of my work, maybe some cheerleaders doing cartwheels and singing praise to Al Gore and his ingenious invention (the web). But instead I got a welcome email. Just as good of a prize if you ask me.

Track Day

Randy and I signed up for our 1st track day next month at Streets of Willow with Fastrack Riders. Anticipation, nervousness, fear, joy, excitement and "are we there yet?" are all the emotions that hit me at once everytime I think about that upcoming day.

Here is a great story of a track day at Button Willow by a guy named Dylan who's site I visit on a regular basis. There are several reasons I wanted to take my bike to the track, and Dylan summed up the first and foremost of them all in one sentence, "The skills riders learn on the track increase their odds of survival on the street. It’s really that simple".

Mt Baldy

On Sunday Mike, Randy, "Monster" Dennis and I rode to Mt Baldy and back. Aside from the wind that we hit close to Mt Baldy, it was a perfect day for riding. Today we took a lot of pictures of each other riding. So instead of jibber jabbering, I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Randy on his 06 Yamaha FZ1

Mike on his 05 Ducati Multistrada 1000s

"Monster" Dennis on his 06 Ducati Monster S2R

Me on my 06 Ducati Multistrada 620

Wet Again

I haven't been diving in a little over 4 months, so I was due. A couple of days ago I went to test regulators with Scubalab. I cant tell you which regulators we tested or which ones did well, you will have to wait to see it in an upcoming issue of Scubadiving. But I can tell you, I would dive again with any of the regs we tested, any day. Well except for one...and you will have to wait and see which one.

Topside the weather was perfect. Sunny and the high 70's.

However the dive conditions were not that good. But I really needed some nitrogen loading, so I didn't mind. Water temp was 57 degrees and viz was about 10 to 20 feet, which is bad for Catalina. I spent most of my time rating the regs, but I did have some extra time to get some pics. But I did not get that many good ones because of the conditions.

Abalone - Its really nice to see them making a comeback after having them all but wiped out in the 70's and 80's.

C-O Sole - Sometimes these guys are really hard to spot along the bottom because of how well they blend in with the rocks.

Moray Eel - I always dig the way the red rock shrimp and gobys take advantage of their big ugly neighbor keeping guard.

Sheep Crab - Speaking of ugly, this is a face only a mother could love. Kind of reminds me of Denny.

After the tests we dropped the Scubalab guys off at Avalon where they were staying for all 3 days of testing. I could only do one day, so I had to head back across the channel.

Nothing beats a good day of riding, well except a good day of diving.
